ADHD, Chronic Disorganization, and Hoarding Disorder: Commonalities and Differences

At some point in an organizing or productivity professional's career, they will encounter pervasive disorganization that makes them wonder "Is it ADHD, Chronic Disorganization, or Hoarding Disorder? And how do I move forward?" This presentation will provide an overview of the common features and differences of ADHD, Chronic Disorganization, and Hoarding Disorder. Strategies for what to do and what not do will be explored. After the presentation, the attendee will have a framework for understanding and responding to these situations.

3) Learn some strategies for working with ADHD, Chronic Disorganization, and Hoarding Disorder

Our Presenter - Denise Lee, CPO®, CSA

Since 2005, Certified Professional Organizer and Coach Denise Lee has helped hundreds of people reduce the frustration with, overwhelm by, and embarrassment from their long-lived battles with clutter and disorganization by creating individualized systems and strategies to create effective order. Her experience in social work and Information Technology has provided a framework to understand the logical side of organizing while being sensitive her clients' emotional needs. Denise holds ADD, Hoarding and Chronic Disorganization Specialist certificates through the Institute for Challenging Disorganization. She is a graduate of the Coach Approach for Organizers, and holds Certified Professional Organizer® and Certified Senior Advisor® credentials. She serves on the Board of Certification for Professional Organizers and is a long-time volunteer for Boy Scouts of America. She lives in Saint Louis, Missouri with her husband Sherman.
