"What to Do after the Death of a Loved One - A Practical Guide"

Presented by:

Erin Schneider, LCSW

Erin Schneider received her Master's in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago in 2003. She spent 10 years working as an Oncology Social Worker and Patient Navigator in Chicago. She helped link patients and families with concrete resources to ensure they were able to access their cancer treatment. When appropriate, she also referred patients to palliative care and hospice so they could face the end of life with comfort and dignity.

After taking some time off to be at home with her children, she decided to return to the field of social work but in a different capacity. In speaking with a friend who had recently lost her stepfather and hearing about all of the practical issues that needed to be addressed after his death, like returning his leased car to the dealership and canceling his cell phone, she realized that her experience as a Patient Navigator could benefit families in their time of grief. She did some research and found that this service is not currently offered in the St. Louis area. Concierge Bereavement Services is her answer to this unmet need.
